What is AI voice and SMS intake?

Software that answers an inbound call or text, triages the problem in conversation, and opens the ticket.

AI voice and SMS intake is the practice of putting an automated conversational agent on the inbound service line so that a request is captured, triaged, and turned into a ticket without a human answering first. Unlike a phone tree, it takes free-form speech or text; unlike a chatbot, it lives on the channel the requester already uses. The useful implementations are deterministic underneath: the triage script and its outcomes are configuration, and the model only translates between natural language and structured fields.

Why it matters

What the practice is actually for.

  • The phone is still where urgent requests arrive, and voicemail is where they go to die
  • A text thread produces photos, a literal transcript, and a delivery receipt — evidence a phone call does not
  • Triage handled at intake means a technician opens a ticket that already has the information they need
  • Anything safety-critical must never depend on a model getting the words right
How Odin does it

The practical version.

Odin answers your inbound numbers in English or Spanish, runs a deterministic emergency keyword screen before any model call, and executes the triage graph you authored as an Intake Program. Live voice runs over Twilio ConversationRelay with ElevenLabs voices; SMS carries photo capture; after-hours calls fall back to recorded capture and a text reply. Numbers resolve per number, then brand, then tenant, so a white-labelled caller always hears the right persona. You bring your own Twilio account — Odin never resells minutes or messages.
